My story

[p]We are doing again.[/p][p]7 years ago, Matt run from Chelsea's two Hospitals, North Staffs Hospital (Stoke) to Alder Hey (Liverpool) 53 Miles. This time with some friends, Warren Thomas, Lee Jones, Martin McGuigan & Jill Phillips. We are going to do it again but this time with another 40 miles extra to The Proton Therapy Centre in Manchester where Chelsea finished her treatment last year.[/p][p]On Saturday the 17th October we will be running the original route from 2013 to Alder Hey and then on Sunday 18th we shall be running the 40 miles to the Proton Centre in Manchester. [/p][p]Our Story[/p][p]Chelsea is inspirational to us all and the charity is to support children like her. [/p][p]As you all know Chelsea had been on and off chemotherapy after being diagnosed with a brain tumour back in 2012 for a few years Chelsea has inspired so many others along the way, in how she coped with having her brain tumours. She has always taken it on and shown it who is boss. [/p][p]In January 2019 for the first time We was scared we was going to losing our daughter. Chelsea collapsed in Dads arms picking her up from school with a really bad headache. One of Chelsea’s Tumours had a bled coursing her to have a serious stroke. She slept for days. She couldn’t talk or move anything down the left side of her body. Our family have always been together supporting each other. But In a flash, we had been separated but trying to be together as often as possible to support Chelsea in what was her biggest battle to come, with 14 weeks of intense physio at Alder Hey. Her attitude, strength and determination were simply mind blowing. [/p][p]In the time she was at Alder Hey Chelsea learned how to eat, drink, talk (Never stopped since) and walk again with the stairs too. [/p][p]After returning home for a few weeks it wasn’t long before she was heading to Manchester for 8 Weeks Proton Therapy. That she was supposed to have had just after Christmas as her tumours was growing again. Chelsea took the proton on like the true champion she is, and we are so proud of her. [/p][p]Since finishing her treatment her Brain Tumours have continued to shrink.[/p][p]Chelsea is a true inspiration to us; she has proved you can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. [/p][p]We are running from Stoke to Alder Hey (Liverpool) to the Christie Proton Centre (Manchester) for The Chelsea Burley Trust. We helped set this charity up in Chelsea’s name. The Chelsea Burley Trust is something we are very proud of and it now has a static caravan in North Wales, so that children on chemotherapy can have that much needed respite. Every donation is much appreciated, and We thank you all in advance x #braintumourawareness #braintumor #braincancer #TeamChelsea #Chelseasbutterflys #TheChelseaBurleyTrust #NotAllHeroesWearCapes[/p][p](The Chelsea Burley Trust does not benefit Chelsea or her family in any way)[/p]
