My story

[p] In June 2019 I will undertake a 4219 mile (roughly!) cycle around mainland UK using A & B roads. The route will be circular and I will not cross any road twice. I am planning to complete it in 17 days. [/p][p][br][/p][p]There are many personal reasons why I have chosen to challenge myself with this cycle, however the main reason is that I wish to raise funds for two amazing charities that have played a huge part in my life.[/p][p][br][/p][p]The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre Benevolent fund is the 1st charity. DMRC helps to rehabilitate members of all branches of the armed forces. The Benevolent fund helps to support their rehabilitation through the purchase of specialist goods and services for the patients throughout their programme. [/p][p]DMRC used to be based at Headley Court where I was a patient of theirs for a duration. I was knocked off my bicycle by a car in Feb 2015. As a serving member of the armed forces, DMRC helped me recover from my life changing injuries. [/p][p][br][/p][p]I am fundraising to help purchase DMRC minibuses to help further their support for our injured service men and women. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Surfers Against Sewage is my second charity. As someone who has spent a lifetime outdoors, particularly in the water, I am all too aware of the state of our environment. My family and I have supported this charity for over 15 years. As the impact of plastic becomes more aware, it is so important to do what we can to protect our seas. As a no nonsense, plain speaking grassroots Marine Conservation charity, SAS is perfectly positioned to do this. [/p][p][br][/p][p]I am fundraising to help support the Plastic Free Communities indicative that is helping communities across the world come together to rid ourselves of single use plastic. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Please help me support these amazing causes by donating and supporting my AB Sea 2019 Cycle Challenge. [/p]
