Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. [/p][p]AFC Halifax are embarking upon the latest challenge in the name of charity,[lt]br /[gt] this time as well as our nominated charity, Macmillan cancer support, half[lt]br /[gt] of the money raised will go to St Gemma's Hospice, in the name of the Late[lt]br /[gt] Debbie Charlton, FC Halifax Town Commercial Director[lt]br /[gt] [lt]br /[gt] It is with Debbie's families permission that we are honoured to take up this[lt]br /[gt] challenge and raise money for their nominated charity too, one which was[lt]br /[gt] very close to Debbie’s heart and she also did a lot of fund raising for.[lt]br /[gt] [lt]br /[gt] Our challenge is to walk from The Shay, home of FC Halifax Town on the[lt]br /[gt] evening of 20th March 2015, leaving at 8.30pm, to Moss Lane the home of[lt]br /[gt] Altrincham FC.  Once we arrive at Altrincham there shall then be a full[lt]br /[gt] football match between AFC Halifax and Altrincham supporters team[lt]br /[gt] [lt]br /[gt] The distance is over 35miles, and we aim to complete the walk within 12 hours.[lt]br /[gt] The walk promises to be a tough ask, but I am sure it will be very rewarding[lt]br /[gt] and a few laughs will be shared along the route. If you would like to join[lt]br /[gt] us please speak to any member of AFC Halifax. If you cannot take part in[lt]br /[gt] the walk we would be pleased if you could spare any amount of money to[lt]br /[gt] donate to these two fantastic charities.[lt]br /[gt] [lt]br /[gt] AFC Halifax has worked closely with Macmillan over the last 6 years raising[lt]br /[gt] in excess of 25 thousand pounds; we aim to continue this work through[lt]br /[gt] various schemes and challenges.[/p][p]Thanks for reading[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
