My story

[p]Alpine Run - Finished![/p][p]After 26 hours 4mins and 5 secs I finished. 3 mins 33 secs slower than 2017, 2 years older but none the wiser. Thanks to all for prayers, good wishes for safety and sponsorship of Starfish Asia (see below). I have an account of the CCC race which you can read here. [/p][p]The CCC (Courmayeur - Champex - Chamonix) Race is a horseshoe shaped route around the Mont Blanc massif which started in Courmayeur in Italy at 0900 on Friday Aug 30. The race then went north up to Champex in Switzerland before entering France and ending in Chamonix at foot of Mt. Blanc. Approx. 101km with over 6,100m of climbing. [/p][p]Science labs in Pakistan's schools for the under-privileged[/p][p]Starfish Asia help educate desperately poor children from the Christian community in Pakistan. Target was initially to raise enough to provide 2 schools with science lab equipment but it looks like may raise enough for 3 or even 4 schools- thank you! See description from Starfish below. You can donate online here at my Virgin Money Giving site. [/p][p]Starfish Asia is now supporting about 50 schools for some of Pakistan's poorest Christians. We have just received the annual results of the High School graduation exams -- and many young people are excited to have passed the first great hurdle in their academic future. But there are some disappointmenst too -- and this year it is clear that the weakest subject in many of our schools for the poor is the lack of a good science teacher and a science lab. We are launching a project to provide science lab equipment and a video-based science teaching project in Urdu ( https://edkasa.com/ ) to raise the standards in as many schools as we can. It costs about £500 to equip a school with basic equipment to help these underprivileged chidlren to greater success in their future.[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
