My story

[p]All throughout my childhood I have been involved in many different sports and in the last few years running has taken over most of my time! I have always ran in local school competitions and county championships but football was the priority. However, due to me growing up and getting a job etc... I could no longer find time for football. So I needed a way to keep fit that I could do pretty much anywhere and anytime. Running was perfect, although it didn't sound too exciting to me at first but I wanted to stay fit. [/p][p]Then, I was invited to a training session with Totton running club by one of my mums friends. Since then I've really got into my running and enjoying every minute of it. A great way for anyone to enjoy running is through parkruns, hopefully it's not too long before they are back on. Not long after, I was entering events. I started with a few shorter distance races like 5k, 5m and 10k races. I focused on getting faster at these distances before moving onto further distances. [/p][p]I did my first and only half marathon in 2019 in Bournemouth. I hadn't done any serious training for it but now know that training is key. Learn from my mistakes 😅. I still managed a good time but it could have been a lot better if I had prepared. Anyway, after a half marathon, the idea of a marathon started floating around in my head. I started asking friends and people at my club about their experiences of running a marathon and everyone of them said it hurts! 😂 At the same time they all said how much they enjoyed it. [/p][p]So then I decided that I wanted to do a marathon but I wasn't sure when I should. My Mum had seen a post on Facebook about an amazing charity that had a London marathon place available. Obviously running the London marathon is a massive event in any runners eyes and to have this opportunity I had to apply. Its not just being able to run the marathon that made me enter, but seeing the fantastic work that Smile4Wessex does and being able to be a part of their effort and helping them as best I can. [/p][p]So, after all that, I am asking you to support the smile4wessex charity by donating to my page. No matter how big or small your donation is any amount is hugely appreciated. If you're like me and like treating yourself to the occasional chocolate bar or sweet treat, then why not donate that £1 to smile4wessex.[/p][p]Thanks to smile4wessex and the people involved in choosing me to represent them at the London marathon. It's a privilege. To see for yourself the work they do, you can find them on Facebook, Instagram or online.[/p][p]THANK YOU! [/p]
