My story

[p]For those who don't know, my passion for cycling (and all things Lycra) ignited after having back surgery in 2015. Whilst I've never attempted an endurance event such as this before, it's always been on my bucket list to cycle from London to Paris within 24 hours (a distance of approx. 185 miles/ 300km). [/p][p]This event provides a great opportunity to fundraise for pioneering research into corneal dystrophies, such as the one my 9 year old niece Matilda suffers from, and the vital work that Fight for Sight do in support of people suffering sight loss and eye disease.[/p][p]Matilda was first diagnosed with eye problems aged 18 months old. Matilda's eyes are covered in microcysts which dry out, burst and cause extreme pain and blurred vision. Consultants have tried numerous treatments over the years in the event of preventing corneal erosions though none have been successful. There is currently no cure![/p][p]The money raised through this event will go directly to Matilda's charity which funds research into her specific eye condition. [/p][p](This event is entirely self funded)[/p][p]*****************************************************[/p][p]YOU CAN ALSO MAKE TEXT DONATIONS ..!![/p][p]Text TLDA08 to 70070 and the monetary amount you wish to donate. For example: [/p][p]to: 70070[/p][p]TLDA08 £10[/p][p]*****************************************************[/p][p]As an incentive, I'm offering a prize to three people who guess the closest total time it takes to travel from London to Paris (which will be paid out of my own account!) [/p][p]Enter your time prediction in the comment with your donation.[/p][p]1st - £60, 2nd - £30, 3rd - £15[/p][p]If I reach £500 I'll even shave my legs! [/p][p]*****************************************************[/p][p]Thank you for your support, AD x [/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
