Team story

[p]Thanks for all the donations.  Yesterday went well but tiring - ended up with ice pack on my bad back - pulled muscle 2 weeks before event!  We also raised extra money on the day with donations, selling tea, coffee, cake and biscuits plus raffle and one of my members has been bringing in fruit from her trees over the last few weeks.  This extra fundraising has mounted up to £232.94. Looks as though we could be on our way to raising £1,500 - absolutely brilliant and thanks very much.  Will keep you posted.[/p][p][/p][p]Hi, thanks for visiting my page.[/p][p]Last August we gathered to celebrate my father-in-law's 75th birthday.  The following day my brother-in-law's life changed when he fell from a horse.  After an agonising wait of 25 days he emerged from a coma.  We knew he had brain damage but did not know to what extent.  But he has been one of the luckier ones.  Eventually, he recognised people, he could talk, he could walk and his memory was mostly there and, with help, would improve.[/p][p]A  year later we are all grateful that, not only is he alive, but he has a good quality of life - although different from what he had before.[/p][p]Every 90 seconds somebody in this country has a brain injury.  Each year an estimated 1 million people attend hospital A&E in the UK following head injury. It is estimated that across the UK there are around 500,000 people (aged 16-74) living with long term disabilities as a result of traumatic brain injury.  These are frightening statistics, aren't they? Tomorrow it could be you or somebody you know and love.[/p][p]So that is why I am supporting Headway.  The money we raise helps them make a huge impact on the lives of those affected by brain injury - the survivors, their families and carers.  Please, please, please give generously![/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p][/p]
