My story

[p]Dear Friend,[/p][p]Current estimates show that over 200,000 women living in sub-Saharan Africa die annually from preventable causes in pregnancy and childbirth - a waste and a shame. As a part of Team Amref Health Africa, I will be running the London Marathon on April 22, 2018 and dedicating the 42.195 kilometers to the women and their children in dire need of maternal care services before, during and after pregnancy, and the midwives who care for them. By supporting me and giving to Amref Health Africa, you'll help ensure that childbirth is a time of joy for more women.[/p][p]This fundraiser is very important to me. Though London will be my seventh marathon, I will be running to support this charity for the second time because the cause is one I find close to my heart. I know that many of us are also able to relate to the issues of maternal health in Africa hence my reaching out to you.[/p][p]I am hoping to raise a minimum of £2,000.00 (Two Thousand Pounds) before the end of March 2018 but of course hope to do it much sooner.[/p][p]None of the funds raised will go towards covering any of my expenses (marathon registration, travel, hotel etc). Every penny raised is being channeled to support these women and each contributor will be able to view this directly on the funding page. All of my own personal expenses will be paid for out of my own pocket.[/p][p]Kindly reach out to me if you are unable to donate through the link (card issues, currency etc) and I will accept offline donations and contribute in your name.[/p][p]In addition to raising funds for the cause, I am committing on my part to train hard for the marathon and achieve a new personal best time.[/p][p]Please give today and cheer me on as I run the race on April 22, 2018![/p][p]Thank you for your time and generosity. [/p][p]Akintunde[/p]
