My story

[p] Allan Grover and Rupert Dowdeswell, Navy and Army Warrant Officers, have decided to embark on the pilgrimage that is “Lands End to John O’Groats” by bicycle. Covering on average 70 miles a day across the Menas of Cornwall, the flats of Somerset, Fells of Cumbria and the Monroe’s of Scotland in just 14 days. Riding unsupported and sleeping under canvas this is truly a challenge not for the faint hearted. [/p][p] Our ultimate goal is to raise money and awareness for our 2 chosen charities Combat Stress and Help 4 Homeless Veterans, two small charities that do a great deal of good work for veterans and serving members of HM Forces. [/p][p] We’ve all seen the pictures and posts of veterans who have suffered or are suffering quietly with mental health issues and ex-service personnel living on the streets and feeling that they have nowhere to turn and feeling they have no future. So hopefully with the maximum effort from us and your generosity we can raise enough money to get someone a roof over their head or some specialist treatment.[/p][p] Giving what you can to our challenge (not forgetting Gift Aid), will help fund these two charities, will make a huge difference to someone. Your donation will help get someone off the streets and will get someone the treatment they need.[/p][p] We thank you in advance for your contribution and you can keep up to date with our training and 14 day challenge by going to our Blog at: https://rudeb8.wixsite.com/alandrugo-lejog where we will also be publishing photos and videos with kit and food reviews that we will be using and eating along our journey.[/p]
