[p]The Alexander family are spending time throughout August supporting Derwen College's latest fundraising challenge: Undertaking a virtual walk from Land's End to John o' Groats (Derwen College LEJOG) to raise money towards the refubishment of the Bungalows in the Agnes Hunt Village at Derwen College. Between us, we are doing lots of 'walks' to accumulate the miles equivalent to walking the length of the mainland of Britain. Tom Alexander is a student at Derwen College and the opportunity for students to live and learn in this semi-independent setting is invaluable, as Tom Alexander explains: [/p][p][b]My Bungalow Journey at Derwen College[/b][/p][p]Being in the Bungalows has improved my confidence by learning to look after myself. [/p][p]I learnt to how to make my own meals. [/p][p]I learnt how to wash my clothes in the washing machine and now I can. And I keep my Bungalow and bedroom tidy. [/p][p]It felt like home to me living in the Bungalows during my 3 years at Derwen College.[/p][p]I really like being independent in the Bungalows. In my spare time I like to spend time and visit my friends in their Bungalows and to socialize with them.[/p][p]Thank you very much for supporting us! [/p]
