My story

[p] My main goal is to bring awareness of NSPCC, the national charity for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children in the UK ( www.nspcc.org.uk) by raising at least £400 between now and after the race.[/p][p] [/p][p] Now more than ever, it is important that we keep NSPCC going as this year’s report found that rates of police recorded physical, sexual and online abuse offences against children and adolescents are higher than ever.[/p][p] [/p][p] Many of the risk factors associated with abuse and neglect have been exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic, while the support services that would traditionally identify and respond to these concerns have been unable to see many of the children and families they work with face-to-face.[/p] Therefore, our donations will help children rebuild their lives and help NSPCC find ways to prevent further abuse. A few examples of how our contributions help NSPCC: · £4 could pay for 1 NSPCC Trained volunteer counsellor to answer a child’s call for help to Childline; · £20 could pay for 4 calls to NSPCC Adult Helpline to support an adult who’s worried about a child; · £50 could pay for 12 calls to NSPCC Childline, to help continue being a lifeline for children and young people · £180 could pay for a trained practitioner for one day, helping children get back on track · £380 could pay for 2 children supervisors shifts, supporting NSPCC volunteer counsellors [p] [/p][p]Our contribution means a lot, so thank you in advance. [/p][p]Kanimambo,[/p][p]Alexandra[/p]
