[p]Thank you for visiting my Just Giving Page, i've decided to take part in the Admiral Cardiff Santa and Elf Dash to raise money for Welsh Hearts after a personal tragedy turned my life upside down.[/p][p]Back in February I lost my beloved Dad Clive aged just 59 after he suffered a cardiac arrest, Dad had just gotten to his car ready to drive home from work when the tragic event unfolded. Anyone who knew my dad would say he was larger than life, Fit,Healthy a keen golfer and walking footballer who always kept himself active.[/p][p]The worse thing about Cardiac Arrest and some forms of heart disease is that it's a silent killer, more often than not it's without symptoms totally out of the blue with no prior warning, this is what happened to dad.[/p][p]This family tragedy has spurred me into promoting the importance of Cardiac Screening, CPR Training and working with this wonderful charity to get these vital defibrillators into all our communites, you never know when someone may need it and it saves a life.[/p][p]Unfortunately the passing of my dad was instant and he couldn't be saved but each day i keep his memory alive by promoting the importance of this amazing charity and the good news stories that have emerged from a person being saved through Screening,CPR and Defib use.[/p][p]If you can use a personal tragedy to do good for others and keep a loved ones legacy alive at the same time, you're paying them the ultimate tribute..[/p][p]Please help to save a life by sponsoring myself and fellow colleagues on this amazing event [/p][p]All monies raised will go towards[/p][p]❤? Heart Screening in Wales[/p][p]❤? Placing Defibrillators in Welsh communities[/p][p]❤? Providing free CPR & Defibrillator training[/p][p]Every second counts when you’re having a cardiac arrest. There are 8000 sudden cardiac arrests outside hospital in Wales every year, and only a 3% survival rate. A defibrillator is able to restart the heart during a cardiac arrest, and can save lives. When used, the survival rate can increase to 50%, but a speedy response is crucial. [/p][p]Thank you for taking the time to read my page and for your kind donation [/p][p]Amanda xxx[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p]
