Climbing Mount Snowdon in aid of MS

[p]Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a Neurological and autoimmune condition where the body's immune system mistakes part of the nervous system as a foreign substance and attacks it by mistake. It can be extremely debilitating, causing many with MS to suffer from fatigue, mobility issues, pain, depression, anxiety, numbness, spasms, difficulty with speech and multiple other symptoms. There are more than 100,000 people in the UK that have MS and unfortunatley, there's no cure.[/p][p]I was diagnosed with Relapsing Remiting Multiple Sclerosis in 2014, aged 19. [/p][p]In July 2018, I decided to set up an MS Facebook Support Group for people living with MS, awaiting a diagnosis and people who have family with the condition in the UK & Ireland. A platform for the UK & Ireland was lacking. In under 8 months, already there are 3,600+ members UK wide. Around 58% of people living with MS in the UK feel lonely, and I hope that MS UK can help lower that figure.[/p][p]On Wednesday 13th March 2019, I will be walking up (and down) Mount Snowdon (the Llanberis Path). This will be a total of 9 miles! [/p][p]This is going to be challenging for me, as I currently cannot walk more than 0.3 miles before my legs feel very heavy & feel like tree trunks (MS Spasticity).[/p][p]Because I know this will be a challenge, I would love to take the opportunity to raise as much money as I can for the two MS Charities that are close to my heart and have supported myself and many other MSers so far in our MS journeys, The Multiple Sclerosis Society and The MS Trust.
