[p]Rennie Grove Hospice Care is a charity my family and I will always be grateful for. It may be almost 4 years since Dad passed away but the memories from that time have never left us. Saying goodbye to Dad was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Learning to live life without him has been and still is a nightmare of a journey. [/p][p]Some days we can look back and laugh at the good times we had, other days the smallest trigger can hit us and it takes all the strength in the world to get up, put on a brave face and get on with the everyday. Not a day goes by where I don’t think about Dad, he’s always there in my thoughts. We all miss him terribly. [/p][p]One thing we can be forever grateful for is the help and support we received from Rennie Grove. This support allowed us to bring Dad home for his final few days. To grant his final wish to spend this precious time at home with his friends, family and dogs. I feel lucky to have had this time, the chance to say goodbye, the chance to tell him I love him. I know not everyone gets that chance and for that I will be forever grateful. [/p][p]I'm running the London Marathon on Sunday 28th April for a number of reasons. I love running. It’s my chance to escape from reality. It’s something I do to focus my mind and set myself a challenge. It also reminds me of the support I got in running from Mum and Dad from the moment I decided to do my first half marathon 10 years ago. So although it’s something I will always do, it's something that has helped me cope over the last few years and for that it holds a special place in my heart. [/p][p]Please donate whatever you can to Rennie Grove Hospice Care. The money raised goes directly to helping families in need, in the same way they helped us. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Thank you xxxx[/p]
