My story

[p]For the last five years I’ve been telling everyone that I meet that I am finally going to cut my hair. It’s taken until now to find the charity that I am prepared to do it for. That charity, Ace of Clubs, is an amazing organisation that I have been a proud volunteer for since August 2017. When we reach £5000, nearly 20 years of hair comes off my head and every pound donated goes directly to help people that I know personally, care deeply for, and deserve your support.[/p][p]Ace of Clubs is a community centre that is critically important to the people of Clapham, homeless and otherwise. It’s open to absolutely everyone and is a place where those marginalised can find acceptance, a sense of belonging, and renewed purpose to see their lives restored. Have a look at what a week looks like here. They do all this without any government funding, so please help.[/p][p]If you give…[/p][p]£10 – 20 clients can each have a new pair of (DRY!) socks.[/p][p]£30 – A rough sleeper can leave Ace of Clubs with a sleeping bag.[/p][p]£40 – The running costs of the centre (heating/hot water) are paid for a day.[/p][p]£45 – 20 clients can have new underpants.[/p][p]£50 – Laundry service is covered (monthly rental of machines).[/p][p]£100 – The cost of the Ace of Clubs van is paid for (one week), allowing for the collection of surplus food from local supermarkets. [/p][p] [/p][p]I’m doing this because homelessness breaks my heart. I’ve had the privilege of getting to know a lot of remarkable people who have happened to be homeless, at Ace of Clubs and elsewhere. If you knew some of these people your heart would be broken too. If you can, please help support them.[/p][p][br][/p][p]https://twitter.com/Ace_of_Dreads[/p][p]https://www.instagram.com/ace_of_dreads/[/p][p]aceofdreads.home.blog[/p]
