My story

[p]I have decided to take the plunge this year and run the Oxford Half Marathon on 13th October for a local charity called Yellow Submarine. They are an award-winning Oxfordshire charity that believes people with learning disabilities and autism deserve to live life to the full.[/p][p]Yellow Submarine tackle the problem that many people with learning disabilities leave school with limited life skills,[img][/img] and as a result poor life chances. This often leads to isolation and being marginalised. Their projects start working with young people in community settings from the age of 11 onward, to build their social skills, confidence, independence and ultimately their employability. At the same time they are supporting families and carers with respite.[/p][p]The Oxford Half Marathon is a personal challenge for me. Less than 1 year ago I couldn't even run for 3 minutes, and now I am challenging myself to run 13.1 miles without stopping in under 2 hours. Please support me in my personal challenge, by making a donation and helping me raise lots of money for Yellow Submarine.[/p][p]Thanks[/p][p]Andy[/p]
