My story

[p]Thank you so much for all of those who have sponsored me so far. Unfortunately I was not able to run the Macc Half on Sunday the 23rd September as my father became critically unwell having suffered a bleed in his brain from a fall. I went out to see him and wasn't back in time for the Macc Half. I now aim to run my own personal Macclesfield Half Marathon on the 13th October and aim to do the same route I was meant to do. Mark Slater, my good friend, is kindly keeping me company. This run is now not only for CF but for my father.[/p][p]Cystic fibrosis is the most common inherited life-limiting disease with no cure. The Cystic Fibrosis Team at UHNM look after children and adults and I would like to help raise funds to purchase equipment that can not be bought through the NHS. This includes medical equipment, games, tech and sports equipment for our patients to use whilst in hospital. I took up running 15 months ago having not really done any running before. A combination of squash and skiing broke both my knees but following 3 anterior cruciate ligament knee re-constructions I am just really pleased to be able to run. This is the first Half Marathon I have entered. Thank you for your support![/p]
