My story

[p]On June 1st I set out on a self supported 900 mile jog from Land's End to John O'Groats in aid of Mind. It will be the trip of a lifetime and I'll be using the experience to talk more about mental health and addiction issues on my blog angryjogger.com. [/p][p]I am a non-practicisng alcoholic. I gave up drinking 18 months ago to try to forge a better life for myself after years of drifting between jobs with a shitty attitude. [/p][p]In those 18 months I've set myself a number of silly challenges and succeeded with most of them. In February 2016 I ran 29 half marathons in 29 days. I've always wanted to do Land's End to John O'Groats but I never thought I'd be able to do it. It was always on the backburner. Now it's not and it's happening. [/p][p]Running is a way to celebrate life. That's why I'm setting out to enjoy as much of this challenge as I possibly can. The stigma that surrounds mental health and addiction is massive and it can make you feel pretty alone. That's why I've made it my life's mission to break these taboos by talking openly about the situations I've found myself in and how I got myself out of them. [/p]
