My story

[lt]p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: '.SFUIText'; font-size: 17pt;]Almost 10 years ago, I received a call from my Dad who told me that he had a "growth" in his stomach. I remember thinking what does that mean? I soon realised exactly what this meant - it meant he had stomach cancer and I would later learn that he would not survive it despite a very brave battle. He was unfortunately too sick to attend my wedding, something I know meant the world to him - but it just wasn't to be. My Dad spent approx 73 days undergoing treatment. And today, my 30 year old nephew is also bravely fighting a rare cancer - angiosarcoma. [/span][/p] [lt]p class="p2" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: '.SFUIText'; font-size: 17pt;] [/span][/p] [lt]p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: '.SFUIText'; font-size: 17pt;]There doesn't seem to be a day that goes by that we don't hear about someone fighting this disease. We need to pull together to fight it. That's why I am very proud to be an ambassador and support the CASCAID initiative, which brings the investment management industry together to raise £1m+ for Cancer Research UK. [/span][/p][lt]p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545;"[gt][/p][lt]p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: '.SFUIText'; font-size: 17pt;]Our challenge - I will row the 70 miles from Fishguard to Rosslare (approx a mile for every day my Dad was in treatment). [/span][/p] [lt]p class="p2" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545; min-height: 20.3px;"[gt][span=font-family: '.SFUIText'; font-size: 17pt;] [/span][/p] [lt]p class="p1" style="margin: 0px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; font-variant-east-asian: normal; font-variant-position: normal; font-size: 17px; line-height: normal; font-family: '.SF UI Text'; color: #454545;"[gt][span=font-family: '.SFUIText'; font-size: 17pt;]You may think by choosing this challenge that I have rowed before - but you would be wrong. In fact, I have never rowed before and I tend to avoid the rowing machine at all costs. I am also recovering from a c-section 6 months ago. But I have an amazing team behind me - and we are hoping to ride the waves and raise a lot of money for a great cause. Please support in any way you can. [/span][/p][lt]p style="margin: 0.833em 0px; padding: 0px; font-size: 13px;"[gt][/p]
