My story

[p]Dans Kerala Flood Aid: The night before the morning my dad (Anthony Augustine) told me about the disaster that has visited Kerala where my parents were born. On television we watched the news of the horrific flood that engulfed large swathes of this small southern state in India. I was shocked to see overflowing rivers, avalanches and people crying for help. Animals and huge trees were floating in the muddy waters that was flowing through uncontrollably. I could see houses and other buildings being swept away by the mighty force of water. Water gushed through wherever it pleased to go. Hills and valleys disappeared as water swallowed them up and showed its might above them all. Dad said our "God's Own Country" will not be the same again. Dad was visibly upset.[/p][p] [/p][p]The next day morning, when dad was preparing breakfast, he told me that he was thinking about the tragedy that is being unfolded in Kerala. He said thousands of people have lost their homes, roads have disappeared in so many places and rivers have formed instead, bridges are washed away and helpless people are looking for support. He said he is going to do a sponsored bike ride to raise money to help these people. I was beside him and I told him "I also want to join you". He tried to dissuade me saying its hard and long distance as it starts in Liverpool and finishes in Leeds. I told him I still want to join him, provided he rides bit slow. When he found that I am not giving up he agreed. It is going to be a big challenge for me but I am glad that I am doing something this in the company of my dad for such a worthy cause. I also want to motivate and inspire other children young and old all over the world to join me and raise fund for this great cause and contribute in their own way. [/p][p]I am getting ready for the Big day with regular bike ride practice. [/p][p]Thanks for visiting my page and a big thank you for your contribution![/p][p]Daniel Kunnel[/p][p]PS: Bike Ride is planned to start from Liverpool on 20th October and finish at St. Theresa's Catholic Primary School, Barwick Road, on Monday, 22nd October.[/p]
