My story

[p]Further to my previous story, here is an update. I and my family have successfully completed the challenge. It was a hard but enjoyable experience. Over 8 days, we climbed up to a height of 5895 metres. Some of us were affected by the altitude sickness, but we braved through all the odds and made it to the top [/p][p]I and my family are taking on this very significant challenge for us, to raise money for University Hospital of North Midlands, specifically to raise money for the Urology department to improve the care we provide to our patients.[/p][p]The whole family have been training hard and none of us have any experience of climbing any mountain. To live in tents without shower and subzero temperature with lack of oxygen for nearly eight days is scary. However the thought of helping our patients really motivates me to take on this challenge. I am scared whether I would be successful or not, but this challenge has already changed my life significantly. I walk everywhere now and that has become part of my life now. My car now gathers dust in the driveway most of the time. I would like to urge people who live only a few miles away from the hospital to “walk to work”[/p][p]Our UHNM charity, urology department and I personally would be ever so grateful for any support and donations [/p]
