[p]On the 25th of May 2020 I will be running the London 10k in support of Liberty’s Legacy to raise vital funds into life saving research for Ewing’s Sarcoma in memory of my beloved friend Liberty Schurer. [/p][p]Liberty was diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma September 2016 on her 13th birthday. But after a courageous and inspirational 13 month battle, Liberty sadly passed away, gaining her wings on the 11th October 2017, just two weeks after celebrating her 14th birthday. [/p][p]Liberty is my greatest inspiration. Through those 13 months Liberty never let cancer define her and continued living her happy, quirky life, rarely letting her beautiful smile slip from her face. She fought cancer with amazing determination and despite all the gruelling treatment she was put through she never let it change her as she continued being her cheeky, funny self, laughing with her oh so contagious laugh that is forever missed. [/p][p]Through Liberty’s treatment the biggest frustration was the lack of funding into this deadly disease. The protocol with which Libs was treated with was decades old and designed for adults and the survival rates for Ewing’s had not improved in over 30 years. [/p][p]Liberty’s greatest wish therefore was that we fundraise in her name with all proceeds going towards research into Ewing’s Sarcoma so that no child has to go through was Libs did, no family devastatingly ripped apart and no more friends lost.[/p][p]I will never forgot Liberty and i’ll always miss her. I miss the weirdness she shared that never failed to make me laugh, no matter how inappropriate it was, Libs always come out with it. I miss talking about Ed Sheeran who we bother loved!! I miss her laugh, her smile, I even miss her ranting about her problems. I miss when the problems she shared with me weren’t about cancer, but were about boy troubles or what outfit to wear to the next parties. Those are the only problems a teenager should worry about, not fighting for there life. [/p][p]This is why it’s so important that we fundraise to get research into this disease to find a cure and to keep remembering Liberty for her beautiful, inspirational self. [/p][p]Thank you for taking to time to read this. If you would like to donate towards this then please do. Anything, whether it’s little or large all goes towards vital research which could save life’s! [/p][p]Lover you forever and always Liberty, fly high❤?[/p]
