My story

[p]Thank you for visiting BID's fundraising page for the 2019 London Legal Walk. [/p][p]So far our team is: Elisa Smith [/p][p]We are walking to raise money in support of BID's efforts to challenge immigration detention - a system where people can be locked up with no time limit, while the government tries to deport them. It's a system that tears families apart, as Rose, the daughter of one of our clients, describes:[/p][p]"Dear Judge...Please could you help my mummy...I am missing her because I love her very much. She used to help do my hair and take me to school. Now my daddy takes me to school and it is hard for him. He can't do my hair and he can't cook for me. In the night I have to wake up to help my daddy move and it is hard. I am also missing playing hide and seek with my mummy. I have not seen her since Christmas day...I love her and I miss her, please send her home."[/p][p]At BID we help get people out of detention, by providing legal advice, representing them in court and by campaigning against the policies that put them there in the first place.[/p][p]The London Legal Walk is a chance for us to raise money and spread the word - please support us by donating today! The Walk is organised by the London Legal Support Trust which raises money for legal advice charities across the capital, and every penny raised by Team BID goes straight to BID![/p][p]So please sponsor us today![/p][p]Thank you[/p]
