[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p][b]Our riders:[/b] Phil Dobbing, Mark Williams, Bobby Jones, John Keating, Gary Clark, Mark Walmsley, Derek Parry, Rob Hargreaves, Ian Kernaghan, Graham English, Gary Keating, Ian Casson and Rob Casson[/p][p]This year[b] Birkenhead Victoria Cycling Club[/b] has decided to take on the 'The Wild Wales Challenge' for its charity ride. The 97 mile route starts and finishes in Bala and includes Millitr Cerrig (Mile of Stones) crossing the Berwyn mountains and  Bwlch y Groes (Pass of the Cross).[/p][p]Our chosen charity is [span=color: #ff0000;]CRY[/span] founded in 1995 to raise awareness of conditions which can lead to young sudden cardiac death. Each week in the UK 12 apparently fit and healthy young people between the ages of 16 and 35 die from undiagnosed heart conditions.[/p][p]We are undertaking this challenge in memory of Mike Casson who died from Sudden Arrythmic Death Syndrome at the age of 26. Mike was a fireman, cyclist, athlete, rugby player, and swimmer with a lifeguard qualification. Mike's Dad and brother are taking part.[/p][p][b]26th August: We did it![/b][/p][p]97 miles, 9,000 feet of climbing, 5,000 to 6,000 calories burned at average 12.1 mph with 2 hours to spare![/p][p]Many thanks to all our supporters, friends, relatives, colleagues and employers for your generous donations.
