My story

[p]It is sad but true, tragic but a fact of life it seems; everyone knows someone who has fought a battle with Cancer and ultimately been taken too early. [/p][p]It is also however true that all these stories are powerful, humbling and inspiring. It is just such a story, just such a brave and inspiring person whose story I wish to commemorate.[/p][p]Last year, one of my best friends Glen Dyer lost his battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was a few days short of his 42nd birthday. He fought it with a courage and strength which humbled all those fortunate enough to know him. [/p][p]Glen was not a great athlete but still managed to complete the London Marathon on a number of occasions, twice dressed inextricably as a Nun! Training was not high on his agenda, he preferred stubbornness as fuel and it seemed to work! [/p][p]Attempting 2 marathons in 3 weeks thus seemed a wholly appropriate challenge, albeit I draw the line at wearing a nuns’ outfit. I am therefore looking to raise as much money as possible for Pancreatic Cancer UK by Running Manchester Marathon and London Marathon in April this year. I will looking to complete both in a combined 7 hours.[/p][p]Glen once told me he would haunt me if I made a fuss; well do your best mate, I plan on making a real fuss and telling anyone who will listen what an inspiration you are. Please support me any way you can by giving to this most noble of causes. [/p][p] [/p][p]Thank you from the bottom of my heart.Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we're taking it on.[/p][p]It is tough to diagnose, tough to treat, tough to research and tough to survive.[/p][p]For too long this disease has been sidelined. We want to make sure that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need.[/p][p]We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight.[/p][p]Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Pancreatic Cancer UK.[/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p][p]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]

I know he would do exactly the same if it was someone else... proud of your brothers in UK, caring so much about Glen, it's great to see... Peace and love... (Wish I could give more, but hope it helps).
