My story

[p]THE CAMINO CONTINUES. www.bmcamino19.wordpress.com for the blog.[/p][p]Patients and families at Wythenshawe Transplant Unit always need our help, so I've decided to follow last year's successful 500 mile trek across northern Spain to raise more funds, by walking the 1000km, 620 miles from Seville, in Southern Spain, to Santiago de Compostela. The last Camino fulfilled a promise to Tricia that if anything unfortunate should happen to her I would walk it for both of us. On my return, after refreshing mind and body, I said it would be my last, never to be repeated. Wrong! I need long walks in the Welsh hills to help cope with overwhelming grief but I miss the yellow arrows, the gorgeous Spanish wine, fresh tasty mountain spring water, the camaraderie, freedom, the special atmosphere, face the unexpected, and search for sanity. Camino's will never heal emotional pain but the physical pain is a good distraction. [/p][p]So, I'm back in training. Lost more weight; another half stone lighter than starting last year, and fly to Seville on the 29th April, walk through Andalusia, Extremadura, and Galacia, meet my daughters for the final 60 miles to Santiago, and finish 18th June. Unfortunately people continue to be ill and I know, having cared for my wife, who suffered from IPF and had a lung transplant, how much support is important and gratefully received. So, please donate, no matter how small. Thank you.[/p][p]I'm running a blog so, as before, people can follow my journey to Santiago. [/p]
