My story

[p]**Update on 14/09/2020**[/p][p]Unfortunately, now all four of the 10k races I was going to take part in throughout 2020 have been cancelled. Therefore I have changed the name of this fundraising page to 2021! I will still do the challenge but do it next year instead, and at this time I do not have races lined up to take part in, but will update this page as soon as I do. Thank you everyone for your support.[/p][p][br][/p][p]One of my 2020 New Year's Resolutions was to become more active, so here we are! In the past, the only way I have managed to motivate myself to keep fit was by having a target to strive towards. But as soon as that target has been achieved, I tend to abandon it! For example, as soon as the Worthing 10k was completed in June 2019, I stopped running until the start of January this year! So to force myself to get fitter and better, the only way is to have multiple events to train for. And to do it for four great animal causes as well, of course![/p][p]Having already completed the Worthing 10k in 2019, this year I want to really challenge myself and complete four 10k races and try to beat my previous times. This means I will be running 40k in total, which equals to 24.85 miles - that's just short of a marathon! [/p][p]I will be running in the following events:[/p][p]*new races will be inserted when confirmed*[/p][p]**Due to the Coronavirus, all 4 of the 2020 races I planned on running - the Great Bristol 10k (Sunday 3rd May), Bognor Prom 10k (Sunday 17th May), Hove Prom 10k (Sunday 18th October) and Shepton Mallet 10k (Sunday 25th October) have been cancelled, so I am looking for new races to enter. Will keep this page updated**[/p][p] [/p][p]If you are able to make a donation and sponsor me to take part in these races that would be amazing! I have set my target to £800, so with the 25% split each charity would receive £200. Here is a little bit of info about each charity:[/p][p]RSPCA: The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is a charity operating in England and Wales that promotes animal welfare. They achieve this through rescuing, rehoming, rehabilitating and release, and work with all types of animal including domestic, farm, research, and wildlife.[/p][p]The League Against Cruel Sports: The League Against Cruel Sports is an animal welfare charity which campaigns to stop blood sports such as fox, hare and deer hunting, game bird shooting and animal fighting.[/p][p]Forever Hounds Trust: Forever Hounds Trust is a charity dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of unwanted, abused or abandoned Greyhounds and Lurchers.[/p][p]Greyhound Trust: The Greyhound Trust is a British national charity, founded in 1975 with the vision of a day when all ex-racing greyhounds can retire to a loving home and be treated with compassion and kindness.[/p]

Great effort Bethan, and a well written piece! Best wishes for all your exertions. It can feel overwhelming at times. Often it gets to me reading and viewing the way we treat animals and the planet. Mans greed knows no bounds, but we keep the faith
