Team story

[p]Dear All,[/p] [p]In 2014 mine and Rosie's nephew, Toti Worboys, died aged 11 very suddenly from a very aggressive form of Leukemia, and this year my stepfather Keith also lost his battle with cancer. So I felt it was high time to get back in a kayak for a 100mile jaunt to raise some money to battle against the dreaded c word.[/p] [p]His parents Nick and Amelia are trying to raise £200k to back a specific research project into this. Through an amazing effort so far including 85 people running the bath half marathon and various other events they have raised over £156k.[/p] [p]As some of you will know Charlie Dawson, Duncan Purves, Alex Bogdanovski, Andy 'Beans' Cochrane & Billy the Kid (Billy Jenkins) last year kayaked the whole of the Thames raising £15k for Children on the Edge. [/p] [p]This year Charlie, Billy and i are taking on 3 new members and kayaking from Stratford upon avon, where Toti was born, to Bristol where he sadly died - over 100 miles.[/p] [p]We all know that there is a huge calling for your charitable donations every year, this research is intended to ensure that similar young children and their familes do not suffer the same lack of clarity as to what affected their children.[/p] [p]Please please dig deep and help us get over that £200k target. We will be having a finishing party in Rack's Bristol on Saturday 18th June and another charity party with lots of prizes later in the year in London. [/p] [p]Thanks in advance for your support.[/p] [p]Mark, Charlie, Billy & Keenie[/p]
