Team story

[p]WE DID IT![/p][p]8 of us completed the bike ride and we couldn't have done it without the help of our 6 ground crew, they were there to help us through 4 puntures and a chain break! Not forgetting the water and snack stops.....[/p][p]We started at 4.45am and finished at 6pm! A brilliant day was had by all and the weather was very kind to us.[/p][p]Thanks to all who have donated so far it is really appreciated x[/p][p][br][/p][p][br][/p][p]We are doing this bike ride in memory of Pete Collins to raise money for Mouth Cancer Foundation.[/p][p]A group of 11 of us will be cycling 115 miles from Arlingham, Gloucestershire to St Albans, Hertfordshire! We will be embarking on our cycle ride on what would have been Petes 59th birthday and it will also be Mouth Cancer Action month. Ages range from 22 - 57 with varing degrees of ability.[/p][p]Pete lived life to the full was an avid football fan and pub landlord of The Falcon where our bike ride will finish.[/p][p]He battled with mouth cancer for 20 months undergoing radiotherapy, chemotherapy and a massive facial operation which removed part of his palate and soft palate. Although this operation was quite successful the cancer had spread to his eye socket and the margins were not big enough to guarantee that it was gone. Pete eventually lost the sight in his eye, found it very difficult to speak and eat or drink. [/p][p]Pete lost his battle with cancer on 17th April 2018. [/p][p]Please help us raise as much money as possible for a charity that devotes its time to raising awareness of the symtoms of mouth cancer to prevent late detection and increase the chances of survival. [/p][p]Mouth cancer kills 1 person every 3 hours. [/p][p][br][/p]
