Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p][p]Blackmarston is Herefordshire’s only primary special school for pupils with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties from age 2 to 11. Currently there are approx 70 pupils who attend, the numbers are continuing to rise.  The school was built for 40 so as you can imagine we are bursting at the seams! The Local Authority have set aside some funding for an extension to our building which has already started and will be finished by September 2013. However, in these very tight economic times the funding will not provide for the very important sensory equipment for our new light and dark rooms and for new play areas – this equipment is, of course, extremely expensive but this is where we hope that you may feel able to support us by sponsoring on the ride.[/p][p][lt]br /[gt]The Friends of Blackmarston are determined to ensure that our children have the very best sensory facilities in their new extension. All money raised will go directly to The Friends of Blackmarston Sensory Appeal.[/p][p]My daughter Erin is lucky enough to attend Blackmarston and they do no end of good not only for her and the other pupils but for the parents and siblings. It is a geniunely inspiring place and the team are delighted to be able to contribute in this way.[/p][p][/p][p]I'm lucky to have freinds who are silly enough to do this with me, at time of writing 10![/p][p]The ride goes from the Menai bridge in North West Wales to the Severn Bridge in the South West which is approximately 200 miles (Hence Bridge to Bridge!).We are going to do it in 3 days over some of the most difficult routes and climbs in Wales, some of which feature in the Tour of Britain. Its fair to say that the majority of us are not expereinced cyclists, so this is going to be a tough and exhausting challenge.[/p][p][/p]
