My story

Donating through my Virgin Money page is totally secure, safe and simple to do. Once you donate they’ll send your money directly onto to the charity. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and can claim gift aid from your donation if you are eligible. [/span][lt]/h3[gt][p]I did it! Thanks to the encouragement of my sponsors and Team Naylor I met the challenge. See my photo diary at www.naylor.co.uk [/p][p]I raised £3,000! (£2,801.64 via Virgin Money Giving plus £198.36 from sponsors including Doyle Sercurity). Including Gift Aid that's [span=text-decoration: underline;]£3277.91.[/span] Thank You! [/p][p]It’s the first year Team Naylor has taken up the Master Cutler Challenge. I agreed to learn how to shear sheep and to do so alongside experienced shearers during this summer’s shearing season. I cannot quite believe that I agreed to this caper! Even up to the last moment I was terrified but gave it my best shot for an amazing cause. Despite my trepidation, who could argue with the pressing need for more positive outcomes for young people in our communities through the work of the Brathay Trust?[/p][p]I didn't know the first thing about sheep. The British Wool Marketing Board bravely agreed to train me in the fine art of shearing and Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley, S75 4AT hosted my shearing day on Tuesday 16th June 2015.[/p][p]My preparation including lots of stretching exercises, 3 training sessions, innumerable bruises and injuries (to me not the sheep). It was one of the most physically demanding things I've ever done and also one that is highly skilled. Much respect to professional shearers! This has to be one of the toughest jobs in the World.[/p][p]I really, really appreciate all your support and thank you for your kind donations to this amazing cause.[/p][p]It's not too late to donate...[/p][p] [/p]
