Team story

[p]WE DID IT![/p][p]On Saturday 20th of October, the CMI Proclaimers began the challenge of walking a combined total of 500 miles at the East Strand Car Park in Portrush. Walking along the beaches, clifftops and footpaths of North Antrim our Proclaimers experienced four seasons in one day and battled the elements to get to Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge before dusk. Stopping at various points along the way including the spectacular Giants Causeway, Dunservick Castle and Ballintoy Harbour, the team all made it to Carrick-a-Rede before nightfall. Our CMI Proclaimers had a combined number of steps of just over one million![/p][p]We want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you who donated. We simply couldn't have done it without YOU. Our colleague Graham is well on the road to achieving his pledge of raising £100k in memory of his son Tom whom he lost on Boxing Day, to cancer. (More info below)[/p][p]Again, thank-you[/p][p]The CMI Proclaimers![/p][p]Our friend and colleague Graham Stead lost his lovely son Tom on boxing day, to cancer. Tom was just 19 years old and as devastating as it is for Graham, his wife Jane and Tom’s three younger brothers, Graham has pledged to raise £100k to support the Bone Cancer Research Trust and Kamrans Ward at John Radcliffe Hospital, (75% to BCRT and 25% to Kamrans Ward).[/p][p]CMI as a company has been doing a number of events throughout 2018 to help Graham achieve his target and as such are aiming to raise £20k to support Graham and his family with their fundraising. Some of our team have already taken part in weight loss challenges, Couch to 5K’s and in a Tough Mudder event. Currently, we have raised/donated in excess of £8k.[/p][p]In October staff from both our Maidenhead and Belfast offices will be taking on the clifftops, beaches and footpaths along the beautiful but gruelling North Antrim Coast walking a total of over 500 miles to try and raise the balance. Hence the name, CMI Proclaimers![/p][p]And of course, this is where you come in. We are reaching out in the hope that you will make a donation that will help us to help Graham reach his target.[/p][p]No amount is too small and every penny raised will go straight to the two charities. [/p][p]We will keep you updated on our training (or lack of!), and every blister will be bragged about![/p][p]Thank you so very much in advance.[/p][p]The CMI Proclaimers![/p]
