Team story

[p]From 6 am on July 25th to 6 pm on July 26th, join us as we walk, run, swim, bike and/or row anywhere, in the world, inside or outside, any distance, in teams or as individuals or as corporate teams, young and old, fast and slow in order to raise money to support some of the sharpest brains at University of Oxford Coronavirus Research, because we want the world to be back to normal as soon as possible. Join us either by participating, or by donating, every kilometer, every penny, every cent makes a difference. [/p][p]The idea for the Coronathon was hatched on a lunch time walk, an idea born of shock and frustration. Shock at the power of a single virus to change our day-to-day lives and frustration at the cancellation of many sporting events around the world, including the final Ironman competition Tiffany had been training for, since August last year. School friends, Tiffany and Annabel, have decided to combine their two passions - rowing and triathlon to raise money to fight the coronavirus. Annabel rowed for Oxford University and Team GB competing in the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 and Tiffany has completed two ironman distance triathlons, 15 marathons and ultramarathons and written a book, "Ironwomen." [/p][p]We both have strong links with Oxford and decided to support the Oxford scientists because, whilst the larger projects such as the vaccine are supported by the government, there are hundreds of less visible projects, relying on donations, which are crucial in the fight against Covid-19. See our website www.coronathon.co.uk for much more information on the Oxford Coronavirus Research and how we hope to support their work finding a solution to this global crisis.[/p][p]Our families intend to complete our own Coronathon on the weekend of July 25th/26th and we hope to raise thousands with your help. Please join us this summer, have fun, keep fit and support a cause that touches everyone. Join us on www.coronathon.co.uk. Annabel and Tiffany[/p][p][br][/p]
