Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page. Here you can donate quickly and safely to the CRYathlon fund at the charity CRY. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation that will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf. [/p]CRYathlon broadly represents a series of challenge based fundraising events that aims to raise £15,000 for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). [p]Kick starting this series of events is The South America Challenge, an event that will see team member Steven Jones undertake a 3 month long cycling, hiking and canoeing endurance challenge between April and June, with fellow team member Tim Butt on board for the cycling leg. find out more here http://cryathlon.com/cryathlon/ [/p] [p]Our cause is a very personal one with team member Tim having personally suffered a cardiac arrest in May last year; which put his competitive cycling aspirations on a hold and led him to become a patron for CRY.[/p][p]Tim was competing at National level sport in the UK from the age of 14. He progressed through Youth, Junior and Senior Elite level Triathlon before, before turning his aspirations to Road Cycling, identifying this as his main potential for professionalism.[/p] [p]In May 2013 Tim returned to the UK to race after a 4 month stint of hard full time training in Portugal. He was home for just 12 days when he suffered a Cardiac Arrest at his home in Essex. In Hospital he received life support and 5 defibrillator shocks which revived him after 25 minutes. 2 Days later he regained consciousness and started his recovery.[/p][p]Steve has been focusing on his career aims as a digital marketer since graduating from Swansea University with a Digital Media Masters in 2012, having worked for ehi2 and Technocamps. Steve’s experience comes from cycling trips, having cycled down the South of France in the summer of 2012 and completing a 400 mile cycle from Portugal to Spain in June last year.[/p][p]We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
