My story

[p]Community Windpower Ltd encourages employees to engage in an annual, physical activity, fundraising challenge, to raise sponsorship that will be split equally and donated towards two carefully selected charities. CWL 2019 challenge will donate the funds raised to both; Multiple Sclerosis Society UK (a service providing care and support for patients living with MS), and CALM (a mental health service, specialising in male suicide prevention).[/p][p]The challenge for the CWL team of colleagues in 2019 is to travel from Llangollen to Wrenbury, via the Shropshire Union canal, using 2 or 3 person canoes. Covering a distance of 54km, along the picturesque section of the canal that contains; the 126ft tall Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, canal locks, and tunnels. The CWL challenge 2019 is to be completed over approximately 12 hours, which will really test our colleagues mental motivation and physical endurance. Those that are canoeing will have support-teams stationed across the canal-route to provide assistance and refreshments when needed. This tough endurance challenge will be followed by a night of team-building activities and camping.[/p][p]Post-Challenge:[/p][p]2019's challenge put the Community Windpower colleagues to the test when taking on the challenge of the canal water in canoes, with the weather not being favourable on the day - making the challenge set much harder than originally anticipated! The challenge brought the team of colleagues together, and everyone pushed themselves to their personal limits, with some members of the team completing the challenge![/p][p]Community Windpower Limited welcomes any charitable donations that will contribute towards motivating our team to complete the challenge set for 2019, and more importantly contributing towards raising a considerable value of money for two important charitable organisations.[/p][p]To find out more about the charities that have been chosen for CWL Challenge 2019, please follow the links below:[/p][p]Multiple Sclerosis Society UK - https://www.mssociety.org.uk/about-ms[/p][p]Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) - https://www.thecalmzone.net/[/p]
