My story

[p]What do you do when running a marathon is out of the question even in the pre global pandemic era?! Bake! And then read while consuming said baking... This Sunday, I'll be baking 26 scones and eating one or two of them (maybe 2.6?!) while I read 26 pages of 2.6 books (a magazine counts as .6 of a book right??) to raise money for SFAC. [/p][p]At SFAC, we're a children's charity but we don't work with children... Yup, you read that right! [/p][p]So what exactly do we do?[/p][p]We equip adults who are involved in the care and protection of vulnerable children all over the world (40 countries and counting!) so they know how to best help the kids in their care be and feel safe, find somewhere to belong and, ultimately, thrive. [/p][p]I absolutely love my job and am very conscious of the privilege it is to be able to do this work. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 situation has disrupted all of the big fundraising plans we had for this year so we need your help! Could you donate £26 this weekend? Even £2.60 makes a difference and mean the world to us and those we work with. I know times are tough right now so if you don't have the capacity to donate, maybe you could help out by joining in the fun and doing 26 or 2.6 "somethings" (my colleague, Hannah, is doing 2,600 hops!) and sharing your efforts and SFAC's story at the same time?[/p][p]Thanks so much,[/p][p]Caitlin[/p][p]PS You can find out more about our work at www.sfac.org.uk. Or perhaps you'll find these blogs I've written on feeling safe and coping strategies for difficult times helpful in midst of current sadness and uncertainty.[/p]
