Team story

[p]Hi, thanks for visiting our page.[/p][p]I am proud to say that I completed the Edinburgh Marathon in a time of 3 hours and 20 minutes! [/p][p]I was fair nervous setting off, as I seemed to be surrounded by people with lots of energy gel, heart rate monitors and other running gadgetry, however once the starting pistol went off I started to really enjoy running through Edinburgh.[/p][p]The weather at the start was nice and overcast, perfect for running in.[/p][p]When asked if I enjoyed the race I decided the first 21 miles were pleasant, running along the coast and through a forest. I also really enjoyed the last 200m, seeing my Mum, Jonny and Robin there cheering me on.[/p][p]However, there was a very touch stretch between 21 and 26 miles where I had to drop my pace and the miles seemed to take for every. Several cute kids handing out jelly babies and holding up signs helped me stay motivated though![/p][p]When I had finish the sun came out just in time for some sightseeing![/p][p]I am incredibly pleased to announce we reached our fundraising target of £500! Here's some information about the great charity we were running for:[/p][p]The Madeleine Steel Charitable Trust is an organisation which was set up by family friends of Cameron following the death of their baby daughter due to a heart condition. Its aim is to support the training of medical experts in paediatric cardiology to improve care for babies with heart conditions. You can find out more at:[/p][p]http://maddysteeltrust.com/[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor us and donations will be quickly processed and passed to The Madeleine Steel Trust.[/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. We really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]

Well done both! I presume you did get all or some of the way round? Anyway, it's a worthy cause to which I'm glad to be able to help a bit. Sorry it's late, but my PC has been on the blink for weeks! Mike T.
