Capita Resourcing Consultancy Tower

[p]Throughout the month of May, [b]Capita Resourcing’s Consultancy tower [/b]will be dusting off the running shoes, walking boots and WD-40ing the rusty bike chains to complete a total of 536 miles of exercise across the team. [/p][p]Why 536 miles? This is the equivalent of the distance between our four offices based in Belfast, Manchester, Reading and London. [/p][p]The designated charity for the challenge is the [b]‘Mindstep Foundation’[/b]. Mindstep was set up in 2018 after the death of 22-year-old Max Davies who took his own life after a battle with clinical depression. Nico McCord from the consultancy tower was a very close friend to Max so the charity is incredibly close to home[b]. [/b]Suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 and claims the life of 84 men in the UK each week. Given the current lockdown mental health concerns are even higher than normal.[/p][p] The funds of this event will go towards:[/p][p]- Funding a research programme into clinical depression[/p][p]- Funding towards aftercare for families following the suicide of a loved one[/p][p]- Funding a wide range of workshops, training courses and talks[/p][p]- Funding individual counselling sessions to help promote mental wellbeing across the whole of society.[/p][p] There needs to be more awareness as to how depression can present itself as the symptoms of depression are not always obvious to others - a smiling face can mask intense pain.[/p][p] Setting up a registered charity up is a very lengthy process. Therefore, all donations will temporarily be sent over to the conveyancing foundation to allow gift aid to be attached. Once set up the funds will then be transferred to the ‘The Mindstep Foundation.’[/p][p] [/p][p][b] Thank you for your kind donations.[/b][/p]
