[p]Hello and thank you for visiting my fund raising page. I am a 60-something cyclist and I ride between 10 and 15,000 miles each year. I went for my first ride aged 3! I am also an author and I use my rides and my writing to fundraise for a charity, Green Light Trust (GLT), that I have supported in various ways since it was founded in 1989.[/p][p][br][/p][p]GLT does fantastic work in the East of England by helping people facing profound health, education and wellbeing challenges. Using the natural outdoor environment GLT helps these people overcome their challenges to enhance and enrich their lives, lifestyles and livelihoods. This complements the work of mainstream health and education services who often lack the resources or the expertise to support such people effectively. GLT’s achievements have been widely recognised with several regional and national awards. [/p][p][br][/p][p]In 2018 I rode across America from Los Angeles to Boston (3,500 miles) and my story of the ride has been published in my latest book, Can I Tell You Something, which is available from Troubador Publishing in the UK (www.troubador.co.uk). My previous book, Passione Celeste, which was published by Troubador in 2018 was about my rides in the UK and Europe. I am donating royalties and income from the sales of my book to GLT. You can read more about my cycling adventures on my blog at www.captaincentury.com[/p][p] [/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to GLT. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid (tax relief) on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. GLT and I really appreciate all your support and thank you for your donation.[/p]
