My story

[p]I don't really know where to start with this. The news, shortly before Christmas, of Rob Burrow's diagnosis with MND hit close to home for 2 reasons.[/p][p]Number 1 - I am a massive Leeds Rhinos fan and although the same age as me, Rob is a hero of mine and his try in the 2011 grand final will be a memory I will never forget.[/p][p]2 - I know first hand how this disease effects the people who are diagnosed and also how it effects their friends and family. We lost my uncle on 20th December 2016 to MND. He was also a massive Leeds Rhinos fan. We had held season tickets in Leeds south stand for 13 years. He loved and adored his family and his loss to us at the age of 57 was massive.[/p][p]MND is unlike most major illnesses. Nowadays you can be positive of your chances with all types of cancer as the treatment and options are vast. MND HAS NO CURE!!!![/p][p]For Rob this will lay heavy in his thoughts of his wife and 3 young children and with that in mind I want to do everything I can to raise money for Rob and help his treatment and his families future in any way I can.[/p][p]Taking the above into account I have decided to take on a series of races between April and October culminating in the Yorkshire Marathon on 18th October. In total I will be taking on (10) 10k races, 1 half marathon and the marathon. All the races added together will have me run approx. 100 miles and I am far from in shape. In fact I haven't had my running shoes on in over 2 years.[/p][p][br][/p][p]If you have made it this far then thank you for reading. Please donate any amount you have spare as every penny will help Rob and his families future.[/p][p]Thanks[/p][p]Carl[/p]
