My story

[p]In September this year I plan to cycle the length of the UK for three incredible charities that are close to my heart: [/p][p]The Yolanda Moore Foundation[/p][p]Ronald McDonald House[/p][p]Edinburgh Sick Kids[/p][p]The full story and reasoning for each choice is down below. In 2020 I think it’s important to be grateful for health and happiness. I feel very fortunate to be able to take on the 14 day, 1000+ mile challenge to raise awareness and funds for these fantastic charities who offer help and support to those who need it.[/p][p][br][/p][p]The Yolanda Moore Foundation[/p][p]In 2018 the ski industry lost the beautiful Landy Moore to a tragic hit and run incident. She was a great person who could light up any room, was passionate about everything she did, incredibly kind, warm and had a lot of life left to live. She worked with disabled children enabling them to develop communication skills. In her memory her parents set up TYMF to continue her work and ensure what she would’ve done gets done. The charity supports young people in achieving their dreams. [/p][p][br][/p][p]Ronald McDonald House [/p][p]My little cousin Laila was born with a unique anatomy and several heart conditions. She is an unbelievable girl with a mindset of steel and a lust for life. Due to her complex heart Laila has had 6 Open Heart Surgeries - 3 in the last 5 months. A few weeks ago family were given the devastating news that Laila’s heart had deteriorated significantly and she is now in Heart Failure. There are no surgical options for her now other than to receive the gift of a new heart which she has been put forward to be assessed and considered for. The Ronald McDonald house offer housing and support to families with children receiving treatment requiring long and frequent stays in hospital. There is no doubt without their help the path up to now and the road ahead would be even tougher for her parents and close family.[/p][p]Edinburgh Sick Kids [/p][p]After the loss of my brother Calvin a number of years ago, myself and my family never forget the work of this hospital and always try to raise awareness and funds where we can to help them to continue providing healthcare for children in the UK.[/p][p][br][/p][p]Please, if you can, share this link, spread the word, donate, get involved. Anything you can do to create some drive is appreciated. [/p][p]X[/p][p][br][/p]
