My story

[p]We are very excited to announce an amazing new challenge for August 2019...Dean Burchell from DB Fitness and Nutrition has created this challenge. The misson is to take a six man team and summit Europe's highest mountain under the leadership of Baz Gray from Challenge Antarctica. The team will be raising money for The Royal Marines Charity. Joining Dean & Baz will be Spencer Wilson, Ben May, Jack Llewellyn and Mike Dingle and this is the team fundraising page.[/p][p]As the overarching Royal Marines charity, The Royal Marines Charity has among the widest purposes of any service charity in that it looks after both serving and retired Royal Marines, and their dependants – this converts into some 125,000 potential beneficiaries.[/p][p]It goes without saying that we seek to support our wounded and injured in any way we can. But we also seek to improve the quality of life for each and every Royal Marine. And we continue this support long after our people have severed their formal links to the Corps. Since our merger with The C Group, we now actively seek to build lasting relationships with leading UK companies so that Royal Marines leaving the Corps can go on to find meaningful second careers.[/p][p]Sadly, we also provide a death grant to the next of kin of any member of the Corps who has died in service.[/p][p]By giving to The Royal Marines Charity, donors are empowering the Trustees to use the money given wisely, to meet any of the purposes of the wider charity and, crucially, at the point of greatest need at the time.[/p][p]On the 1st of January, the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund and The C Group merged to create The Royal Marines Charity.[/p][p]Both the RMCTF and The C Group have been hugely successful over the last 3 years, and whilst both charities have developed individual areas of expertise there are increasing areas of overlap. To support their combined beneficiaries better over the next decade and beyond the RMCTF and The C Group combined to create The Royal Marines Charity with effect of 1 January 2016.[/p][p]Through the creation of The Royal Marines Charity we will:[/p][p]increase our ability to assist our beneficiaries through improved fundraising, transition, benevolence and grant-making;[/p][p]create a single point of contact for requests from beneficiaries;[/p][p]create a single point of contact for support from donors;[/p][p]inspire stronger engagement with the Corps family and the support network;[/p][p]provide a platform for increased membership of the RMA;[/p][p]create stronger links with civil society; and,[/p][p]create a unified brand with significant profile and credibility, fit to serve the Corps.[/p][p]Vision: Royal Marines and their families supported through life.[/p][p]Mission: To provide the best possible through life charitable support for the Royal Marines, their families, veterans, and cadets.[/p][p]Purpose: We are a single, unified and integrated charity for the Royal Marines extended Corps family, where cadets, the serving Corps, veterans, and families are supported through life with benevolence, comradeship, transition support and amenities, underpinned with a cohesive sense of heritage and esprit de corps.[/p][p]The Royal Marines Charity will remain a proud part of the Royal Navy Royal Marines Charity Group.[/p][p]https://theroyalmarinescharity.org.uk/[/p][p][br][/p]
