My story

[p]BIG ABSEIL UPDATE:[/p][p]Well that went.....well I went down! To everyone who helped me on the day! I was a mess. [/p][p]Thank you to everyone who has sponsored me both on here and in person. Still counting but it look's like (including the governments part) we've raised £405![/p][p][br][/p][p]Hello! [/p][p]For those who don't know me, I am Charlene Freeman and I am a member of the embryology team at Leicester Fertility Center, based at Leicester Royal Infirmary. I'm not great with heights but our patients have inspired me to agree to do something instantly wish I hadn't and that is to abseil 100ft (over 30m!) off a very high building at the Royal Infirmary[/p][p]About me[/p][p]I started my training in 2006 after completing my bachelors degree in Medical Biochemistry from The University of Leicester. I qualified in 2011 and became state registered with the Health and Care Professionals Counsel in 2012.[/p][p]I love my job and the people I get to meet. I have the privileged to be part of peoples journeys towards parenthood. Though my work and experiences with my friends and family I have seen the devastation that infertility can cause to the individuals and their wider support network. [/p][p]At Leicester we are proud to offer the latest innovations and techniques to both NHS and Privately funded patients at no extra cost; however to keep doing this we often run charitable events to help fund vital equipment. We have managed to raise over £15k in 2018 for our time lapse embryo monitoring incubators which have helped many more patients to archive their dreams of a family.[/p][p]But we understand we need to do more. So, to help raise funds for new equipment which allows us to continue to give people images of their embryos at transfer as well as additional items needed to help us to support our patients emotional well being we need to start raising funds again. [/p][p]If you could support us in any way this will help us not only raise money to further help patients but also to fight the sigma of infertility.[/p][p]Thank you![/p]

Best of luck. Thanks for everything you do. Without the work of the LFC, I wouldn’t be here watching my little one nap, so thanks for being her first babysitters!
