My story

[p]In April 2019, I’m going to be running the London Marathon! That’s an absolutely incredible thought and I can’t wait to give it my best.[/p][p]I've been slowly building up my running for about a year now. I started with 5km parkrun's, then onto some 10k runs and, finally, moved to 21km (half marathon). Every time I've taken the step up in distance, a large part of me thinks it's going to be impossible. The two half marathons I've run to date left me absolutely broken! It's therefore impossible to comprehend quite how I'm going to make it past half way next April![/p][p]Running the Marathon is going to push me to my absolute limit.[/p][p]It's such a fantastic opportunity for me to raise money for a good cause and I'm over the moon to be able to run in aid of Children with Cancer UK. With your help, it’s going to make every single training mile worth it. This amazing charity helps fund research and raises awareness of childhood cancer as well as supporting families who have been affected by this cruel and indiscriminate disease.[/p][p]Fifty years ago, only 25% of children diagnosed with Cancer survived. Today, 80% of those diagnosed with Cancer can be successfully treated for their condition. However, the treatments are often extremely toxic and can have life impacting side effects on such young bodies. And that's where the focus of treatment is heading today; developing kinder and safer treatments with less toxic side effects which also increase survival odds.[/p][p]I really hope you can help me achieve my aim of raising £4,000. It's a lot to ask of friends and family. The Charity doesn't receive any government funding, and so it's down to us to fund the work it does.[/p][p]Any donation, big or small, is appreciated by me but also by the 12 families every day that receive a diagnosis of cancer.[/p][p]Thanks for taking your time reading this and thanks in advance for any donation you can give.[/p][p]Cheesy xx[/p]
