My story

[p]Pancreatic cancer is a tough one but we're taking it on.[/p][p]It is tough to diagnose, tough to treat, tough to research and tough to survive. 1 in 4 people won't survive a month, 3 in 4 won't survive for a year.[/p][p]For too long this disease has been sidelined. We want to make sure that everyone affected by it gets all the help they need.[/p][p]We are supporting those affected by the disease, investing in ground breaking research, lobbying for greater recognition of pancreatic cancer and being a voice for everyone involved in the fight.[/p][p]Together we are taking on pancreatic cancer.[/p][p]I will be doing my bit on 1st March 2020 and taking part in the Vitality Big Half around London. This will be the biggest running challenge that I've undertaken but I'm gonna give it a go!![/p][p]It's a charity that is very close to me as back in September 2017 my Dad was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. Dad has undergone treatment since September 2017 until the end of November 2019 but early in December we were given the news that the treatment was no longer having an effect on his tumour. It was news that we knew we would one day receive but they were still painful words to hear. [/p][p]Through research undertaken by the charity my Dad has been able to receive treatment, help and support. By taking part in the Big Half I can raise money and awareness for the charity, to help them continue to learn more about this disease and how to tackle it and hopefully reduce the number of families that have to hear those words in the future. [/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Pancreatic Cancer UK.[/p][p]Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this.[/p][p]I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
