My story

[p]Nipple tape at the ready I am running the London Marathon in 2018! Please support me as I embark on 4 months of training remembering that I run to manage my mental health, doing this is not easy and certainly not enjoyable.[/p][p]So why am I running this marathon? Well, 2017 was the year that took so much away in the most indiscriminate way. It was the year that contained infinite amounts of hurt and pain as we mourned the loss of one of life's truly special people - my best man and best friend to many, Charles. He lost the bravest and most courageous of battles with cancer and I want to honour him and his family. [/p][p]2017 was however also the year that brought me an indescribable amount of joy as my wife and I welcomed our 1st child, as we started our family through adoption. After we found out that I couldn't have children myself, I never imagined this day would come but when it did wow! My heart simply filled with a feeling that no words could ever do justice to.[/p][p]So the lowest lows and the highest highs mean that 2017 will never be forgotten. I want to start 2018 with a nod to what has been, and fundraise for two charities who I think do some simply incredible work. Please support me if you can. [/p][p]Macmillan offer support to those most in need and fund incredible nurses, like the one who was there for Charles and his wife through out his fight. Adoption UK is perhaps lesser known, I certainly had never visited their website before we embarked on our journey but the work they do to support adoptive families and champion the needs of children in care deserves a huge amount of credit.[/p][p]Thank you for your support.[/p]
