My story

[p]Having been a member of the Scout Association for over 30 years it has been an important part of my life and has given me the opportunity to experience a range of adventures that I would not have had the chance to do as well as make life long friends. It is more than just this though and gives young people a good basis for life by teaching life skills and how to be self sufficient from a young. To do this is not free and that's why I have chosen to fundraise for the Scouts to help the campsites, activity centres and movement provide this service to the young people of today and the future.[/p][p]And why the London Marathon? Apart from my school 400m career in my Teens running has never been high on my keeping active activity list (those who have played football with me will testify I was not known for my blistering movement) but the start of the first lockdown last year led me to running as a way to keep fit and I caught the bug now running 2-3 times a week. When a friend suggested applying for this I thought 'Why not......I am up for that challenge!!'. [/p][p]And here we are!!!! Hoping to raise as much money as possible for this worthwhile cause which is close to heart and played a big part in my life to enable future generations to hopefully get as much out of it as I did...[/p]
