My story

[p][span=color: #0000ff;]WHY WHY WHY DID I SIGN UP FOR THIS?!?!?!?[/span][/p][p]A question I have asked myself everyday since I agreed to take on this challenge.  100 mile (yes 100 miles!!!) over very hilly cross country terrain in only 4 days - thats a marathon every day for 4 days - a marathon a day - for 4 days!!!  How a middle aged, father of 2 energetic sprogs, fighting a losing battle with the scales and suffering from dodgy knees is going to run/walk the 100 miles is beyond me! [span=color: #ff0000;]HELP!![/span][/p][p][span=color: #0000ff;]THE ANSWER - FOR CHARITY![/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;]The event, being organised by my company, is raising money for three worthy charities, including MacMilllan which is a special charity to close friends of mine.  The training, the hours pounding the streets and no doubt the pain I will be inflicting on my body over the four days will be worth it knowing the importance of every penny I, and my colleagues, raise to help support these charities.  [/span][/p][p][span=color: #000000;][lt]span style="color: #0000ff;"[gt]WHAT IS THE SOUTH DOWNS WAY[/span][lt]/span[gt][/p][p]The South Downs ways is a 100 miles (160 Km) long National Trail that follows the old routes and droveways along the chalk escarpment and ridges of the South Downs (google it to appreciate the hills!!).  My colleagues and I are attempting to conquer the trail with a group of us running over 4 days, a group biking/walking over 3 days and some joining on the last day for the last leg (a mere marathon!).  [/p][p][span=color: #0000ff;] SPONSORSHIP[/span][/p][p]If you would like to sponsor me as I will be running(the plan) /walking (most likely after day 1) /limping (again highly likely after day 2) /crawling (I hope not but possible for day 4) the 100 miles then any donation would be gratefully appreciated. [/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to charities. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
