Team story

[p]In the past few years, Sarah and James have cycled a combined 5 times in 24-hours from London to Paris to raise money for Duchenne UK, a cause that is so close to our hearts. This event is the charity's key fundraiser through the year, but current circumstances prevent it going ahead as usual.[/p][p]The Clarke family are on the road to completing a total of 1000km on their bikes to do the same this year - Hamish learned to ride a bike only 4 weeks ago to take part in the challenge. Isabel and Josh are keeping the team pepped and motivated, and we've already been on multiple trips into London, as well as further south down the River Ravensbourne (bet you've never heard of that).[/p][p]Two families a week in the UK are told that their child has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), a devastating muscle wasting disease that mainly affects boys.[/p][p]DMD is a desperately cruel disease. It's the most common genetic killer of children worldwide. Children will be totally paralysed by their teens and many won't live beyond their 20s. [/p][p]There is no treatment or cure. But thanks to recent breakthroughs, and with your help, we believe we can save them.[/p][p]Duchenne UK are an ambitious and highly focused charity, investing millions of pounds in research right now to bring treatments and a cure and to help this generation.[/p][p]Please help us to END DUCHENNE.[/p][p]Through Virgin Money Giving, you can sponsor me and donations will be quickly processed and passed to Duchenne UK. Virgin Money Giving is a not for profit organisation and will claim gift aid on a charity's behalf where the donor is eligible for this. I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.[/p]
