My story

[p]Thank you for participating in the Clyde & Co 5 km run for mental health. [/p][p]On the 23rd July colleagues across the UK will be running 5 km to raise vital funds for our national charity partner Place2Be. [/p][p]For every donation made to this page Clyde & Co will match the donation, doubling the funds Place2Be receive.[/p][p]Place2Be provide mental health support to children, young people and families across the UK. With school closures and lots of uncertainty, children and young people need emotional support now more than ever. [/p][p]While the full effects of the current crisis on mental health cannot yet be known, early reports indicate that under 18s are among those whose mental health will be most affected. Being cut off from friends and family, concerns about the future, exam cancellations, domestic violence and bereavement are all issues which will be affecting young people deeply at this time.[/p][p]Place2Be are working hard to ensure they can continue to support the mental health of children and families across the UK. They have adapted their services to support children and families while they are at home through a mixture of online and face-to-face services. Their work is needed now, more than ever.[/p][p]‘One young person described … how their suicidal feelings have increased since lockdown began. They were struggling to see any light at the end of the tunnel. Working with the school and Child and Adult Mental Health Services, we have done everything we can to ensure that this young person is safe, supported and that their family are able to access the services they need.’ Place2Be counsellor, April 2020[/p]
